University Press of New England is a
publisher of general interest and scholarly books based at
Dartmouth College and supported by a consortium of New
England schools. UPNE publishes fiction, including
mysteries, under its Hardscrabble Books imprint.
Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance is
the largest statewide literary organization, per capita,
in the United States. They host several writers' workshops
throughout the state; public readings, contests and
related events; and an annual writers' retreat.
Offers a variety of workshops and programs
for writers (including a workshop on "writing the mystery"
in May with William G. Tapply).
